Engagement Shoots

Romance is in the air and the anticipation of your lifetime together comes to a crescendo in the fleeting weeks leading up to your wedding, causing you to wonder: Do we need a Myrtle Beach engagement photographer? After all, don’t the wedding pictures represent the beginning of our lives together?

I believe that having an engagement photo session is important for several reasons. First, this time allows you, as a couple, to get comfortable in front of the camera with your photographer, and figure out how you work best together before the main event. Next, you can showcase your personalities in a more casual setting, while creating some fun, memorable images for wall portraits, your wedding sign-in book, guest signature board and Thank You cards (shot early enough, I can also provide the images for your Save the Date cards and invitations). Best of all, you can remember this special time forever with personal memories of just the two of you, away from the throngs of loved ones and friends. Book your engagement session today, I will strive to accommodate your schedule in any way I can, but please allow 2 months in advance of your wedding for the optimal use and enjoyment of your images.

New Trends
Grooms-to-be are starting a new trend! When it comes to proposing, they are getting creative and making it a memory they will never forget. They are requesting the help of a professional photographer to step in and capture the proposal! I can help you plan the perfect spot and location for this unforgettable moment. I know what works and what doesn’t work when it comes to locations and details.

Some tips for your engagement session
Pick a location that has some kind of meaning to you, maybe where he popped the question or where you met for the first time. You can even be in your own apartment or home, be comfortable and cozy.  Of course there are many beautiful locations around the Myrtle Beach area such as the state parks, Conway River Walk, downtown Georgetown, the Market Commons and more.

Showcase some of your favorite things
Are you and your fiancé into any sports? Do you have any pets? Personalize your shoot so you can show off the perfect couple you are!

Props
This may seem a little insignificant but a couple little props can make your session more meaningful and fun. Think balloons, signs, anything that will jazz it up a little, and I promise you nothing is too crazy for me!

Posing
Its normal to feel shy in front of the camera, trust me – I know! So don’t be surprised if I guide you at first, and within the next couple minutes you will see how quickly I can embarrass myself, or do something that will make you know you can be yourself. Candid shots are my favorite.

Be yourself
If you’re a casual gal, dress casual. I don’t want you telling me how your feet hurt if you wear heels and decide today is the first day you want to try them out! The location will help in determining what outfit to wear.

Wedding Shoots

What makes Myrtle Beach weddings so special? It’s the sound of the waves, the salt air, and wiggling your toes in the sand as the breeze blows through your hair. Even if you are not actually right on the beach all of these things are right around the corner.

A Myrtle Beach wedding is a special event. Imagine the long lasting light of the sun setting on the ocean and the special moment when you say “I do.” Well, weddings are all that and more! From the beachy decor to the matching chair covers, your wedding will be a dream come true!

Should you get married right on the beach?

The City of Myrtle Beach has some advice and some regulations about this. Visit this web page for fees and rules about holding Myrtle Beach weddings right on the beach.

Myrtle Beach weddings are amazing, if the weather cooperates. If you do get married on the beach, have a back up plan, just in case! Sometimes the weather doesn’t cooperate with your idea of a perfect night.

Also if you would like to get married on the beach, don’t spend too much time picking out the perfect heels, because heels in the sand very seldom work out! Try a nice pair of sandals for the ceremony and heels for the reception! Hey, you could always go barefoot and feel the sand between your toes as you walk down the isle. Some nice places to get married may have a lawn overlooking the ocean, and we can always take a walk down to the beach after the ceremony for group photos!

Bridal Shoots

What is a good bridal portrait?

The best and most beautiful bridal portraits are not created on your actual wedding day, but several weeks prior to your big day. Your wedding day is full of surprises and unexpected events, leaving you no time to create a memorable bridal portrait. There are many other things you want me to focus on during your wedding, for example small details, bridesmaids, flowers and much more. Good bridal portraits make you feel beautiful and others say “wow!” Your bridal portrait is planned to be as perfect as possible. I want to ensure the weather is calm, the light is glowing and the location of your shoot is exactly what you had in mind. A bridal portrait can be put on canvas (I offer this with some of my packages) and presented at your reception for all your guests and family to admire. It will be something you can cherish for the rest of your life.

Having your bridal portraits session with your photographer before the wedding is a great way to get to know everyone involved in your wedding. It’s the perfect chance to do a trial run with your hair dresser & make up artist. Although not always common, bridal portraits can be used for your wedding announcements, hometown newspaper or a unique guest book for your guests to sign at the reception.

How do I make your bridal portraits special?

I want to make your wedding day, and the events leading up to your wedding day the absolute best day of your life – just like you do! Nothing is better than photographing a happy bride and groom. Not only does it make the pictures nice but it makes me feel like I did my job. I don’t want to be just a photographer, but part of the family – someone you can count on. I like to get to know my bride and groom before their big day, maybe over coffee at Starbucks, at an engagement shoot or whatever you would like! I want your bridal portraits to be unique, like you. I want your photos to represent you in every way they can!

Where are some of these Myrtle Beach bridal portraits taken?
These are some scenic locations that offer great spots for portraits:

Atalaya castle

Brookgreen Gardens

Myrtle Beach State Park

Also, think of the beach, the pier, a golf course. What do you like? Do you have a unique idea that expresses your personality? Tell me and I will find the perfect spot for your bridal portraits.

Is there a traditional way to shoot these portraits?

Well, you are in the south! However, bridal portraits have changed dramatically over time, and now take on a more natural and personalized look. A bridal session can have both traditional and artsy photographs taken. Show a little of your wild side, and add a little class for other photos. My wonderful artistic eye can give you both a serious, classic vibe with just the right amount of sexy.

What makes a good family portrait?

To me, Myrtle Beach family portraits are about capturing everyone at their best. Yes “formal” is nice, with everyone smiling and looking at the camera, and we will capture a few like that. However, I want to see you laugh. I want to capture your family’s true happiness and the bond you all have with each other. I can make you laugh, and I promise you I will. I don’t know if there are too many serious bones in my body but that’s what makes my shoots so much fun!

How does hannah make Myrtle Beach family portraits special?
I can make your shoot special by meeting with you before your shoot to find out a little about your family. Do you guys like animals? What about boats? What color is your living room?  What are these photos for? I like to picture your family photo in my head before I capture it. I want to know what the picture is going to be used for. If it’s for a Christmas card, I may bring a few props and maybe some fake snow – anything to make your session special.

Where are some good locations for Myrtle Beach family portraits?
Location, location, location! Although I love the sun, and I mean I LOVE the sun, I like to shoot in the shade. The sun will sneak through the trees in the background but I want to see your eyes. I do not want you squinting your eyes or even closing them cause the sun is too strong. I don’t like shadows on your face or the shadow of Sally’s nose on Johnny’s cheek. I like to find a clean, colorful spot in the shade were we can get to know each other, laugh and capture some great memories together that can last you a lifetime!

Traditional family photos
With every shoot I do, I do like to take some traditional photos. Maybe grandma and grandpa would like a copy of those. However, after the formal traditional shots, I like to take some fun, candid shots. I want to see you laugh, and tell secrets. Maybe you and dad have a special handshake – those are the memories I love to capture.

Non-Traditional Myrtle Beach family portraits
Lets have fun! You want to get out the paint and cover your family in different colors of paint? Lets do it! I’m down for just about anything.

Senior Portraits

Today senior portraits are entirely different from when I was in high school, and the idea can be a little overwhelming for both parents and kids. It’s different when your Myrtle Beach senior portraits are done by an experienced photographer who makes the time fly by while having fun!

Senior portraits are about celebrating a new stage in your life. For many teens their entire senior year is filled with milestones worth noting and celebrating in many many ways, including a senior portrait! This may be their last stage before moving out of your home for college!! Documenting this time with a photographer is one way to ensure that you never forget who you are – right now!!

What are Good Myrtle Beach Senior Portraits?
Whatever makes you feel beautiful. Something you can cherish, give to friends and say to yourself “Dang, I look hot!”

How do I make your senior portraits special?
I will ask you to bring something that represents your senior year. Are you a cheerleader? Do you play football? I will also ask you to bring several outfits. Outfits are fun! I like colors, patterns and more.

Traditional
We will deff take the nice yearbook photos and we will also get the “Facebook” profile picture of your dreams!

Do You Recommend Formal or Non-Formal?
Your Myrtle Beach senior portraits will look their best if we do a little bit of both.
